Welcome to South Africa
Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to Maropeng

Day 2

Sterkfontein Caves and Cradle of Humankind Tour followed by Lion and Rhino Park in the evening

Sterkfontein Caves and Cradle of Humankind Tour
Sterkfontein is a set of limestone caves of special interest to paleo-anthropologists located in Gauteng province. Have a look at the animal fossils and other tools dating back more than 4-million years, to the birth of humanity. The most important and most famous of these fossils are “Mrs Ples”, a 2.1-million-year-old Australopithecus skull, and “Little Foot”, an almost complete Australopithecus skeleton that is more than 3-million years old.
Lion and Rhino Park
The Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve is a privately owned game reserve covering 1200 hectares of land which was opened to the public in 1990. After humble beginnings, visitors may now view in excess of 650 heads of game, including some very rare and endangered species. If you are lucky you can get a chance to feed the lions while you are here.

Transfer from Maropeng through Kruger National Park

The largest game reserve in Africa is steeped in legend and history. The iconic Kruger National Park in South Africa is waiting for you to explore its vast landscapes and spectacular African wildlife. On the game drive, climb aboard an open safari vehicle and search for the “Big 5” of Africa: lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes and elephants.

Visit the Panorama Route

Panorama route
Set in the verdant countryside of Mpumalanga, the Panorama Route is where cliffs bear, dozens of waterfalls and a distant storm brews permanently in the periphery. With spectacular views, impressive mountain waterfalls and endless skies, pictures simply don’t do this beautiful stretch of the Lowveld any justice, be prepared to have your breath taken away.

Leave Cape Town in the morning for the spectacular landscapes of Cape Point. Enjoy a scenic drive, stop to see the penguins at Boulders Beach before heading to Cape Point, in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Be on the lookout for antelope, ostrich and other games. Scan the ocean for whales during the Cape's whale season.
