Sterkfontein Caves and Cradle of Humankind Tour
Sterkfontein is a set of limestone caves of special interest to paleo-anthropologists located in Gauteng province. Have a look at the animal fossils and other tools dating back more than 4-million years, to the birth of humanity. The most important and most famous of these fossils are “Mrs Ples”, a 2.1-million-year-old Australopithecus skull, and “Little Foot”, an almost complete Australopithecus skeleton that is more than 3-million years old.
Lion and Rhino Park
The Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve is a privately owned game reserve covering 1200 hectares of land which was opened to the public in 1990. After humble beginnings, visitors may now view in excess of 650 heads of game, including some very rare and endangered species. If you are lucky you can get a chance to feed the lions while you are here.
